Qualified staff
Mannheim employs about 115 full-/part-time + temporary staff consisting of physicians, Study Nurses, Project Coordinators, pharmacists, PTA,QA, nightwatches and Monitors.
Centralised Archive
The archive is located in Grünstadt at the CRS-Grünstadt facilities.

- Approx. 1,250 m² park-like grounds
- A separate unit for ambulatory studies in the basement with standard facilities for up to 100 volunteers separated from the inhouse wards

Clinical Trial Supply Management
The Mannheim unit possesses a medication storage room of 11 m² which is equipped with a refrigerator (2 – 8 °C), temperature and humidity control via automatic device and alarm system. After business hours, the automatic alarm system alerts co-workers via mobile phone.
GMP-certified facilities for Mannheim are offered in cooperation with a local pharmacy, Fortuna Apotheke. This pharmacy is preparing sterile solutions for the nearby University Clinics of Mannheim. They are equipped with clean rooms according to GMP requirements for preparation of sterile solutions.
The manufacturing license for CRS-Mannheim (formerly IKP)/Fortunapotheke was granted by the authorites in summer 2006.
The Phase I-II Unit
The Phase I-II clinic of CRS-Mannheim has a total capacity of 97 beds for inhouse clinical trials. 14 of these beds are located in our intensive monitoring unit and are fully equipped for continuous safety monitoring, as required for specific trials, such as First-in-man, i.v. drug administration or cardiac monitoring trials.
An additional ward in the basement can strictly be separated from the inhouse wards and is used as unit for ambulatory studies.
CRS Mannheim employs approximately 80 clinical staff, including full-time, part- time and temporary employees. The full-time staff is composed among others of physicians, nurses and laboratory technicians, each one being more specifically responsible for a defined clinical trial and co-ordinating the clinical activity.
Also belonging to the Phase I unit, non clinical staff such as the pharmacists as Qualified Person and a trained cook are actively involved in each trial.
