History
Thirty years ago, in 1977, the unit was established for Human Pharmacology studies and Phase-I trials by Prof. Dr. Peter Luecker, a professional in human pharmacology. The first location of this unit was the small village of Bobenheim am Berg in the midst of the wine growing region of Palatinate.
Since the beginning, services like Bioanalytics and Data Management as well as Medical Writing were included to offer full service.
The unit moved to Gruenstadt in 1984 to increase bed capacities and further meet customers increasing requirements.
In 2002, LTS acquired 100% of the unit, after a two stage share purchase.
To accommodate patient studies, the clinical effort was transferred to the former university children's hospital in Mannheim. This move resulted in 97 beds, closer co-operation with university clinics and successful patient recruitment for Proof of Concept (PoC) trials. Being located in a city centre, recruitment of volunteers was facilitated.
After the move of the Phase I clinic, Grünstadt is now the location for the departments of Bioanalytics, Clinical Development, Clinical Data Management and Medical Writing
Since 2006, CRS-Grünstadt is a part of the CRS-Andernach group. Today Dr. Torben Thomsen and Dr. Manfred Birkel are representing the unit as Managing Directors.
You can now instantly benefit from 30 years' service history…
